Johnny Appleseed

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Nope, not Christmas! It's Johnny Appleseed time! We had such a great day there today. Fall is my favorite time of year, and it just doesn't seem like it ever lasts long enough. But one of our favorite things to do in our city is to visit the Johnny Appleseed Festival. I heard on the radio that about 300,000 people visit the two-day festival every year. It's terribly, terribly crowded, but somehow, every year, we forget this, we anticipate it's arrival, we excitedly go and then we hurry out of there because of all the people! But we do enjoy the time that we spend there...great food, great crafts, great entertainment!

This year, we were most excited that Logan would be able to play in the area designated for children. Different organizations host different booths/games for kids. You pay anywhere from a quarter to a dollar per game/event. The first one Logan did was dig through a bucket of corn kernels. He didn't realize he was searching for a prize, so he just started throw the corn in the air! I think he was making those ladies nervous!!! Here's Logan and daddy walking up to the straw maze. We figured that Zeb would just go with him, but they said that they had someone to help....

....so, Logan just goes with this stranger into a maze...I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing :) (Don't worry, we could see them at all times!!!)

They had some old-time basketball which Logan loved.

And with this game, he had to hold the ball that was tied to that rope and throw it to knock over those wooden objects sitting on the stump. He didn't quite understand the object of the game, and I think the young boy running the game was getting frustrated.

He finally fell asleep, which was good because he was getting cranky. We were able to enjoy our corn on the cob and some more shopping while he slept.

And here's a picture from this evening...Logan and daddy playing dinosaurs. I just can't believe how big he is getting and how much he is growing and changing. Every single day is such a blessing. We feel so blessed to be Logan's parents!
