Quick Trip

 Zeb's youngest sister got married in Florida last weekend, so we had a road trip.  We left on Wendesday and came back on Sunday -- it was SHORT!  On the way down, I packed a picnic lunch, so we stopped when we got to Kentucky.  I told Zeb that I officially feel old when we are packing a lunch instead of stopping for fast food :)  Logan LOVED it.

On Wednesday night, we stayed at Zeb's grandparents' house in Alabama.  

Family Camp 2013

We had so much fun at church family camp again this year!  Unfortunately, Zeb wasn't able to go, so it was just me and Logan.  We missed him, but we still made lots of memories!

Logan on the waterslide - he was a pro....every time he would get done, I would say "You were as fast as lightening!" and for some reason, he would get so upset and say, "Ugh...MOM!  Don't say that!" 

In between the sermons and classes, there was a lot of free time for play.  The first day, Logan picked the afternoon activity and he picked the swings.  The next day, Natalie picked and she picked the creek.  Logan did NOT want to go to the creek after what happened at the creek last year.  But they ended up having so much fun that when it was Logan's turn to pick next -- you guessed it -- he picked the creek!

These two.  I love watching them together.  They fight like brother and sister and they love each other that much, too.  I'm SO thankful for their relationship!

Every night, we sat around the campfire.  Logan would just run and run and run.  He fell a couple times (don't worry, he wasn't running near the fire AT ALL), and he would cry and then say, "Mom, I should have put it in slow....I was going in super fast!"

Logan actually slept on the top bunk all week!  I was so nervous the first night, I didn't sleep well at all, but he didn't have one bit of a problem.  It was a little sad for me because I realize more and more each day how much he's growing up, but I love seeing the joy in him when he accomplishes new things.  He was reluctant to climb down the bunk bed ladder, but I told him that if he was climbing himself up, he needed to climb himself down.  Natalie taught him how...step by step.  And it was ADORABLE!  All week long, he kept telling everyone that Natalie taught him how to go up and down the ladder.

I know that these memories are ones that will last forever.  We heard some good sermons, including one that really stayed with me about pursuing what you love and another one speaking on how God's ways are the best ways...even for every-day life.  Both of those were messages I know, but they were brought in a way that really touched me and I'm thankful for the time we had at Family Camp!

What He Said

We often talk about adoption in our house....what it would be like to get a new baby...what it would be like to adopt a child around Logan's age.

Last night, we were talking about adopting a brother around his age and we said, "Well, he might be scared because he wouldn't know us and then he would be a part of our family."  Logan said, "I'll just tell him to stick with me."  And then we said, "Well, what would you tell him about your daddy?"  He said, "That he's the boss and he takes care of us."  "And what would you tell him about your mommy?"  "That she loves me."

Sauder Village

We had such a good time at Sauder Village last year, that we decided to go back this year.  It's just about a 2 hour drive and SO worth it.  Logan LOVES it there and so do we!  My computer is not cooperating with me, so I won't write a lot here, but I wanted to make sure to get these pictures in before I forget!
