First Shave

And just like that....mommy is old news. Daddy wins by a landslide in the fight for Logan's affection because THEY SHAVED THEIR FACES TOGETHER. (enter sarcasm here, I actually think it's adorable.) They do "boy things" together and tonight was probably the most bonding experience thus far. As a matter of fact, Logan was just yelling to his dad, "Dad, are you coming?" And I said, "Just a minute, Logan." Logan responded, "not you, daddy." {Sigh}

Logan thought is was pretty much the coolest thing EVER to get to shave like daddy. I must say, it was absolutely adorable. I love these two boys so much!

I'm pretty sure that when his first, real shave takes place, he won't let me document it with pictures, so I'm glad that I have these pictures to remember this by.

May I Freeze Time, Please

Dear Lord, please freeze time. Right now. I want Logan to stay three forever. I LOVE this age. Seriously. Even with the challenges, I love it. He's so much fun to be around. He says the cutest things. He does the cutest things. I just can't get enough of him. Last night, when he was getting ready to go to sleep he said, "Goodnight, mommy. I love you, mommy." Seriously, it doesn't get any better than that.

Dear Logan, please always tell me that you love me. It's the sweetest thing ever.
Everything has to involve a "crash" these days.

Logan really wanted this horse from Cracker Barrell. He thinks it's awesome. I think it's a little too small for him, but already, it's provided hours of fun, so we'll take it. Besides, he's extra cute when he's riding it, so it was worth it.

He named it Bullseye. That's Woody's horse's name (from Toy Story).

I know I haven't been blogging much lately. Each and every day brings joy and challenges (mostly joys). I love this little boy and feel blessed with every day that we get to be with him. He's a cool person.

One Thing

There is only one thing that annoys me about my husband. What are you laughing at? Just the one thing. Sometimes, when I ask him something, instead of saying "yes" or "no," he will say "that's fine." Ugh. It just annoys me!

Well, the other night, I asked Logan something (I don't even remember what), and his reply, "That's fine." I about fell over.

Tonight, I said, "Oh! I need to write on the blog that Logan said, 'that's fine' the other night." Logan says, "No, you don't need to write it on the blog."

Olivia Adaline

My sister had a little girl yesterday. Babies are so precious. Especially when they are ours :) We are SO in love with this precious little girl!!!! When I told Logan that we were going to see Olivia, he said, "We are going to Amanda's belly?" Smart kid.

Other unrelated things going on (sorry if I've record some of these before, I just need write things down before I forget):

*Me: Hold your horses!

Logan: Me don't have horsies

*Logan has been getting in trouble a lot at school. I asked his teacher if she could be more specific on his daily report instead of the general "bad day" or whatever. I had no idea what I was asking for! The next day, there was list of about 6 things such as "bit 2 times, destroyed another child's craft, "shoots" teachers when he gets mad, says no, disruptive in circle time...." Oh my. We had a LONG talk with him. I read the list to him and we talked about each item. He cried. He said, "I don't like that paper!" The next day, he got a good report!

I'm not making excuses or anything, but having a boy is hard. He is SO full of energy. His "shooting" is actually him using his laser like Buzz Lightyear (he does this with his arms). And it's cute and all, but not when he's doing it as a retaliation to his teachers! He also likes to try to wrestle the other students. Talk about built-up energy. Seriously. I feel bad because it's like he has so much energy in him that he just needs to run and run and run. I bought the book, "Bringing Up Boys" by Dr. James Dobson about a year ago. I think it's time to read it front to back. We're looking into enrolling him into a soccer activity for the winter.

*Ever since he's been potty trained, he's very concerned about where EVERYTHING/EVERYONE goes to the bathroom. All day long, we hear things like, "Where do whales poop?" "Where do babies poop?" "Where do trains poop?" I imagine that entertains his teachers quite a bit!

*It's funny how little minds work. He really likes God, but he says he doesn't like, "Mean Jesus." I hope that Jesus forgives him because I'm sure he'll learn that Jesus isn't mean. But I really do wonder what makes him think that Jesus is mean? Trust me, he goes to a Christian preschool and we don't ever call Jesus mean at home, so I'm sure where he got that from!!

*He's started this habit of asking his grandparents what they have for him when he sees them. We take my grandma to church with us and she often brings him a little gift or snack. But we are trying to teach him not to ask people if they have something for him because it's rude! So, we've told him over and over "Don't ask Ol' Ma what she has." And now, when we are pulling up to her house, he will whisper to me "Don't say, 'what Ol' Ma have...'" At least he's learning!

Today, I Was a Mom

I had to travel for work this week. I was gone overnight. On my birthday, no less. I missed being at home. So, today, I have just been spending the day doing my favorite thing -- being his mom. Of course, I'm his mom everyday, but on most days, I'm a mom, a wife, an employee....you get the picture. Zeb is at a football game today, so it's just me and the little guy. Wouldn't you know, on my watch, he hurt his foot. I bandaged it up and he insisted that he had to go lay in the "sick bed" (if someone in the family is sick, he/she has to be quarantined to the "sick room.")

I toasted white bread with slices of American cheese for our "gourmet" lunch (otherwise known as 'grilled cheese'). Okay, so it's not fancy, but it's comfort food. I felt like a good mom while I was making them. And then we went outside and he got to blow bubbles. He loved it. I loved it.

Have I mentioned that he's potty trained now? He is.

And we had a delicious fall snack.

We also played in the water table. There probably won't be too many more opportunities to do that this year.

I wish that I could spend everyday just being a wife and mom, but that's not possible right now. So, I'll make the most of the times when I can just be a mom. My favorite.
