Happy Birthday Logan

Today started like any other...Logan ate his cereal, as usual...



...but he was allowed to have gold fish, too -- for breakfast?! This must be a special day!


It's true. Our baby boy is 1 year old today and if giving him gold fish for breakfast makes him happy, well, then that's what he's going to get! And then...what?! Mommy and Daddy aren't going to work today? Surprise, we're all staying home and celebrating!




He got to ride forward-facing in his car seat for the first time today!!





We went to visit our caseworker from the adoption. She hasn't seen Logan since we signed our papers back last October 1. We took her some flowers and visited with her for about 45 minutes. I took my camera, but I forgot to take any pictures! We were too excited to see her and we had too much to say about our little boy!!

Then, we went for a special birthday lunch. This is Logan trying to decide what to order (or trying to figure out the puzzles on the page).



No, silly -- this isn't Logan's lunch! Well, he did eat some of the bun and some french fries (thanks to his daddy). That probably explains why he was spitting up all evening -- "No fries, dad!"

(do you see that little hand reaching for the plate? I didn't even notice that until I was proof-reading this post -- how funny!)

What's a birthday without doing Logan's favorite thing -- being silly with his dad:

Oh precious, baby boy! There are so many things that we want you to know. We love you so much. You are the answer to so many prayers. You make every day bright and joyful and exciting and fun. You are such a good little boy. We are so happy that God blessed our lives with the honor of being your parents. You have an amazing story already in your first year. Our prayer is that you fall in love with Jesus Christ and live a life that is a reflection of Him. We can't wait to see the wonderful ways that God will work through you in your many years to come!
