We came home from the hospital last evening. This morning, we almost headed back there. He was breathing pretty heavy when he woke up. We ran a very hot shower and took him into the steamy bathroom. Then we waited a while and took him outside in the cold air (both recommended by the doctor.) Nothing seemed to work. What did work was when he fell asleep on daddy's chest and it almost seemed like he calmed down that way.
This afternoon, we took him to his regular pediatrician just to make sure we weren't missing anything. They checked him out and said that everything sounds like he's on the mend. His cough is still pretty bad and scares me to death when he really starts hacking. But all in all, we are optimistic that he'll be back to feeling better soon.
He was actually in much better spirits this weekend than he was two weekends ago, although he is VERY scared of the hospital/doctors. He had to have an IV all weekend and some other shots, so he is just sick of being poked. One of the worst things was when they couldn't find his vein for the IV and he was just screaming and I was trying to hold him down while he was looking at me like, "HELP ME!" Now THAT makes a mama's heart ache.
We are so thankful for all of the prayers. Logan ate some spaghetti for supper tonight. So, we felt like that was a good sign. We just really don't want him to be sick anymore. I was hoping that our visit to the ER two weeks ago was going to be IT -- forever!
