We had a wonderful weekend in Chicago. There were three reasons that we went: to celebrate our first Mother's Day as a family of 3 in a very big way; because we had not been able to take Logan out of the state until the adoption was finalized, which just happened last month; and because I haven't seen my best friend, Sam, since she got engaged -- I wanted to see that gorgeous ring!
We left early Friday morning and thanks to our new GPS device, we didn't even get lost! The hotel let us check in around 12:30 local time. The first thing we did was find Al's Beef (Zeb's request) and we had lunch there.
After that, it was nap time. In the evening, we ate supper with Sam and her fiance at Weber Grill. They cook everything on a charcoal grill -- talk about yummy! After supper, we ate some ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.
On Saturday, we enjoyed some time walking around Chicago. The weather was a little chilly and windy, so we weren't outside very long.
We ate lunch at Lou-something or others...I don't know how to spell it...but it was pizza!
In the evening, we let Logan get his first pool experience.
We headed home on Sunday morning, and Logan is a very good traveler. He did great in the car and while he wasn't napping, he was content to play with his toys. I was so worried about traveling with a little one, but turns out, it's more fun traveling with him than it EVER was traveling without him!!! Although he did have some stomach troubles...do you think it was something he ate?!
What a wonderful way to spend my first Mother's Day weekend!!!
