We had a party planned for this afternoon. It was a party to celebrate the finalization of Logan's adoption. Around 1:00 p.m., Zeb was taking some boiling water out front to pour over the thistles. He told me to take Charlie out back, so that Charlie wouldn't be crying out the front door to go outside (Logan was napping at the time). As Zeb was walking out the front door, I gust of wind came and knocked the door back, which in turn, made him drop the boiling water all over his left hand. After he jumped back into the screen door (completely demolishing it), he ran into the kitchen and started putting cold water on it. While I was out back, I heard him screaming my name. I ran inside to find him in excrutiating pain. The next 3 1/2 hours were made up of a trip to Redi-Med then a trip to the hospital to visit the burn unit and we finally arrived home about an hour after the party was scheduled to start. Fortunately, it was mostly family attending and they were gracious enough to adjust their schedules and arrive later. As a matter of fact, they all pitched in and helped with food and helped with Logan and whatever else needed done and the party was a great success. Zeb's left hand is covered in mostly first-degree burns, some second degree...the burn covered his whole hand past the wrist. There is one spot on his right hand that got hit. He has to go back to the doctor this week.
But, let me tell you what a good little boy we have. He woke up at his normal time this morning...well, he actually slept in a little bit, but he ate breakfast at 6:30 a.m. He & I went to a ladies' meeting at the church and Zeb worked this morning. Logan fell asleep on our way home from church and slept until the whole boiling water incident. Once we were at Redi-Med, Logan took a bottle and was so good the whole time. He would babble to the doctor and nurses and he was just content to play and read books. After we got the hospital, we had to sit some more and Logan was just goin'-with-the-flow. He took another bottle there, but was clearly getting hungry. In the end, he didn't eat actual food until 5:30 p.m......that's about 11 hours. How many of us ever go 11 hours without eating and not get cranky? That's my boy. I know that the formula supplemented, but com'on....that's pretty good of him...to be happy the whole time!!!!
Even though it was a quite a day, it's definitely going to make the story of Logan's party much more interesting when we tell him about it when he's older. We were so excited to celebrate the finalization of Logan's adoption with our family. So, without futher ado, here are the pictures from the party.
And now....our precious boy is fast asleep for the night...Sleep tight, Logan. We love you soooooo much!

That was quite an exciting finalization party for Logan! Sorry that your husband was hurt; hope the burns heal quickly.
Congratulations on your adoption!
