To Remember

Logan said: You are the perfectest mom that anyone could ever wish.

Later, he said:  I don't say this often, but I truly care for you.

Celebrate Love

We enjoy February 14 as an opportunity to celebrate love!!!!  Yesterday, Logan had his party at school.  It was mid-morning (not the most convenient time for a working mom), so I told him I wouldn't be able to go.  He replied with "then I don't want to go either."  So, I went.  I dropped him off at school at 7:30, went into work for a couple hours, went to the party and then back to work. I couldn't let my little love down.  He had SO much fun at his party and it was worth all the trouble when I walked in and he started to beam.  He won't always beam when I walk into a room, you know.

They got all sugared up.  Every kid brought in some sugary treat.

Jenny, who was in our wedding, makes amazing cookies.  She made cookies for our wedding reception.  Her daughter is in Logan's class and they made these beautiful and tasty cookies for the party.  And then I realized...Logan and Chloe will be in school together their whole lives...cha-Ching!  I'm hoping for these cookies at every party :)

I was sent these beautiful flowers at work (from my boys, of course).

Sleep is my love language.  I was so looking forward to a great night's sleep and then getting a massage this morning, having lunch and then taking a nap.  We got to bed later than usual last night (past 11, gasp!) and about 4:00 am, Logan started crying that his ear hurt.  We have had little-to-no problems with his ears since he got tubes two years ago.  Once your child has tubes, all you have to do is put in ear drops and that clears it up pretty quickly.  Easy enough, right?  Not since we moved.  Zeb spent a good while looking through our bathroom for the drops and I decided I needed to start looking through boxes. (No, I'm still not unpacked, don't judge.). Anyways, I was in the garage at 4:30 am looking for these drops to no avail.  I went upstairs to give Zeb and Logan the bad news.  Zeb decided to look downstairs and found a big container of expired medicine  that I will take to Walgreens whenever they have those drop-off days.  In it, were some expired ear drops.  Yes, we did.  Desperation for the win!  We used the expired drops and within about 1 minute, Logan said " I feel better!  I'm ready to get up now."  We replied with "it's the middle of the night!  Go back to sleep!!"  The moral of this story is that I should never feel bad about procrastinating (like not taking in that medicine), because OFTEN, it pays off in the end!!!

Zeb had scheduled a massage for me today.  It was snowing and blowing really bad, so Zeb and Logan drove me to my massage and then we went out to lunch.

When we got home, I took a very long nap. The boys did not.

We had a really great day, even though it was a rough night.

Work day

Logan came to work with me for a little bit today.  As we were walking in, this was the conversation:

Logan:  Am I allowed to come to work with you?  What did your boss say?

Me:  My boss isn't here.  He doesn't know.

Logan: I see what you're doing.  You're breaking the rules.  And I like it.

(Opening the door...)

Logan:  let's just play it cool.

He cracks me up!!! He is the funniest person I know!!!  I'm so glad we didn't get a boring kid ;)

Snow Day!!!

We were SO thankful to have a snow day today - all of us!!!!  We got a lot of stuff done, and we played outside!!!

This is the first time we played in the snow in our new yard, and it was great!!! So much space and so many little places to adventure.

See the happy face he "drew" in the tree??

Snowball fight!!!!

The plow trucks pushed a bunch of snow in our front yard and made it perfect for sledding!  I even jumped on the sled and proceeded to fall at the bottom and then couldn't get up.  We came in after that.

We had a great day together as a family!!

Kindergarten

These are the types of things Logan already knows - how to tell time and how to count money (among other things)!  I'm so amazed at how much he learns at school.  Not bad for 1/2 days :)

Logan got this life-sized hippo from his grandparents.  He loves it.
