Confessions of a Reluctant Sports Mom

I hate sports.  I don’t mind activity, but I hate competition.  I get so stressed watching sporting events.  My heart starts pounding, my hands get sweaty....I’m literally on the edge of my seat just waiting to get hit with  a ball/puck/bat/bird doodoo.  You name it, I’m expecting it to hit me.

But I’m the mom of boys.

And I LOVE being the mom of boys.  SO MUCH. God got it right.

And yet, I still hate sports.

I’m just being honest.

But I love my boys more.

So tonight, I found myself sitting on the bleachers -  but mostly just up chasing Wyatt - but I watched.  I watched and my heart pounded every time a ball got hit his way.  Will he get it?  Will it roll right past him and he’ll spend 30 seconds looking for it?  Will he be out there, not even paying attention? Will he catch it and be so excited that he forgets to throw it in?  So many scenarios.

He was up to bat.  Heart pounding, palms sweating (that’s me).  And then, it happened. He got hit by a ball.  It was horrible. It hit his elbow.  I passed out.  (Kidding)

Long (very long) story short - they went into overtime and Logan was completely terrified to bat again.

And THIS is why I hate sports.

But someday, I hope my boys read this.  And I hope that through all of my jumbled words, what they really glean from this is that with even as much as I detest sporting events, I love my boys so much more.  And so, the next 18 years of my life will likely be spent doing this.

And I will be their biggest fan.

I'm BACK!!!

I never intended to take a break from blogging...the Blogger app stopped working and I couldn't remember my password or anything...didn't have the email that I set it up on.  Just a big mess.

But I figured it out, and now, I'm back.

The main reason I started this blog was selfish....for me.  So that I could write things down and look back at them.  I'm so glad that I did.  I'm so glad I'm going to be doing it again!

The boys are growing so fast, and I cannot gush enough about HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM.  They simultaneous drive me crazy and bring me my greatest joy.  How is that possible?

I cannot believe I get a front row seat to watch them grow.

So, I will try to start updating more, because 90-year old Amy will appreciate it (I imagine me sitting in my nursing home room, just reading through my old blog every day.)

Life Lately

Every time I try to blog, I get kicked out of the app.  So, it's quite frustrating.

But we are loving life.  Enjoying every minute of our family of four.

Church Family Camp

I found this post in my list of drafts that were never posted, so I didn't want to lose it.  It's from our first time at Family Camp...I think Logan was 3!

Sharing Our Story

One of my co-workers also happens to be a DJ on the weekends, so he invited us on the radio to share our adoption stories.  At first, it was just going to be me & Zeb, but Logan BEGGED is to let home come, so we did.  I'm glad we did. He did so great.

I was so nervous...more nervous than speaking in front of a group!  But I pray that people were able to hear our hearts and hopefully, they were inspired to investigate or pursue adoption!

I'm so proud that I get to be Logan & Wyatt's mama and that I get to be the one to tell the world how great they are!!! I don't think I'll be getting my own radio show any time soon, but I am working on getting a recording of the show so that those of you that missed it can listen.
Logan, on the other hand, did great.  And I'm so proud of him!  He thought we were going to get paid for this and we were going to be rich.  So cute.

3 months

He was mad at me for taking away his paci.
And then I gave it back for a sec and he had his eye on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

And then big brother wanted in on the action...both of my boys in one pic, YES PLEASE!!
Tried some more...by this time, he was totally into MMCH, so it was fine.

Here is a comparison at 1 month, 2 months and 3 months.
